experimenting with glitter

I have tried several ways of using glitter on my plaster models of bullets. When trying to cover the entire bullet the problem I had was the clumpyness of the glitter meant that the details in the shape were lost.

I found creating a dripping effect with PVA glue and glitter was successful. However it was later pointed out to me that this actually made them look like tampons. To avoid this I might try covering the bullets in a metallic paint.
