resin and glitter

After trying to cover the plaster models with glitter it was suggested that I try to mix glitter with resin to make new moulds. This was something that had never been done in the 3D studio before so we were unsure as to whether it would work or not.
In the first attempt I didn't use enough glitter so it sank to the bottom of the mould. However some of it did also rise which made and interesting effect in the middle. I have also found that the glitter looks a lot more sparkly at the bottom of the bullet where it hasn't been covered by the mould.
To try and make the bullet look more sparkly and less faded I have use wet and dry sand paper followed by covering with clear nail polish. This has made it feel a lot smoother and look slightly better however the difference doesn't seem to be that significant .
