Soft Sculpture Gun 5 - Pink AK-47

To expand my practical work I wanted to try and develop my soft sculpture into a larger and more complicated style of gun. This is something that I had attempted to do a couple of years ago but hadn't managed to get the soft 3D effect.

Because of the complicated shape I have used an applique technique. The problem with this is that this piece has become single sided and it is also quite messy where some of the fabric has frayed and stretched when I stuffed it.

This piece is also very floppy and doesn't hold the shape very well in the thinner parts. To avoid this I think I will have to make it much bigger.

However the floppiness is quite effective and comical. It makes the object look very weak and contrasts with the nature of the gun.
